Bark & Root was founded by two recent graduates from the LAB University of Applied Sciences in Lahti. We noticed the struggle to find chews that were truly natural, safe, and free from hidden chemicals. We decided to bridge the gap between ethical global sourcing and strict Nordic quality standards.
Our mission is simple: to replace synthetic pet products with 100% natural, earth-friendly alternatives. Our Ceylon wood chew is just the first step in our journey to build a fully sustainable pet wellness line for the modern home.
As a former banker and graduate of both LAB UAS and Cardiff Metropolitan University, I founded Bark & Root to bridge two worlds: combining the authentic, sustainably sourced Ceylon cinnamon wood of my Sri Lankan heritage with the uncompromising safety and quality standards of my home in Lahti, Finland.
As the creative heart behind this, shaped by my dual degrees in Landscape Architecture and International Business, as a freelance artist and the founder of Soul Space by Jay, I’m guided by emotion, storytelling, and meaningful design. Bark and root is deeply personal to me inspired by my love for animals and a desire to create something honest, caring, and full of heart for the fur babies who are truly family ♥️
